Did you copied the SRF files straight from the English version or did you attempted to edit the japanese subs into English?
-
OK; thanks, in the meanwhile, I sent you a little gift I found recently. I hope I sent it in time for the release.
-
Congratulations on your progress on Shenmue II. Can you get on MSN? I have to ask/send you some stuff.
-
More information for you people: - I've hunted down the font used on the English/FIGS texts of Shenmue I and II; the exact one, not similar ones. Anyone who's directly related to the project, please give me a word and I'll send that. - And now for more spam: On the video I say that the Shenmue (full) dub was a joke, the Spanish version of the April Fools joke... well, that scene no longer is a joke; I got it inserted into the game. As for Time Crisis, the full dub was released on June. I also did another one of The World Ends With You.

I just wanted to say now that thanks to the ShenmueSubs tools (Except that Binary Translator), the Spanish Shenmue I translation has been finished and now entered the stage of correction and testing. The whole 1.20MB of text found in Free Quest and Cutscenes are fully translated. I'm still concerned about how to release this, as I think we cannot patch a GDI image nor duplicate a release so we can do a xdelta or similar from a release. Thanks to all of you people.

Already tried without response, but thanks.
-
How to compile it. I got a copy of Delphi 7 but I couldn't go past installing the first toolset, JVCL. A pal of me got past JVCL, CodeGear, but he's stuck with DCL, DCP and BPL (I'm copypasting, as I got almost no idea of coding)

Hi there, Sizious, I tried to send you an PM but you have your folder full. Hope you can tell me a couple of things about the Binary Translator.
-
Allright, I understand perfectly.

¿Japonés? ¿No te gusta la que estamos haciendo en SEGASaturno - Saturn, SEGA y Videojuegos Japanese? You don't like the one we are making at SEGASaturno - Saturn, SEGA y Videojuegos

Oh, so I misunderstood (Lost in Translation). I thought you had to pass your own backup through the Patcher in order to verify the game, not to use the CD-ROM section of the GD.
-
Wished someone made a SD mod for the Dreamcast then. Oh well.
-
As for what I am reading, I hope you guys can deliver a way to dump the GD-ROM that does not involve the BBA...

Any news in the hacking efforts?

The Font Utility inside ShenmueTrad's tools should help you with the font. As for the character table, check the .csv in the translation tools. You'll have to test and do trial and error in order to see if you can work with this.
-
You'll have to edit the font, and also edit the character table in the Cinematics and Free Quest editors so the latin characters/accents/etc gets replaced by the arabic content.
-
I have a difficulty with the Font Utility. I've edited DC_KANJI.BIN on the COLD_S in order to fix another double byte accents issue, only that this time it seems I've messed up the automatic identification on the Font Utility. Which are the manual parameters that I have to input? EDIT: Never mind, I've fixed the problem. Turned out I moved upwards accidentally the entire sheet.
-
Check out first if it has all the accented characters you need before adding it to the package (If I have to add some more, won't be a problem).
-
That font is mine, I ripped it from the PVRs. I also have other fonts, and all the sources for the Shenmue 1 textures part (The third disc is not tested yet). What I can give you is another ripped font, the one used on menus and such. Other fonts, I had to do some less-friendly tactics (Like using WhatTheFont on MyFonts, make the web write an example, then take the gif and edit it to put it ingame).

Shenmue Loading font.rar

Somebody asked for the Shenmue Loading screen font?
-
As far as I know, we can put accented characters in the Shenmue 1 notebook. We just have to edit the font, and replace the characters. The notebook font and the standard font share the same character mappings per position, just that the standard font has the accents instead of basic japanese characters.

Can you make the tool go the other side as well? Here we've got Disc 1 and 2 partly translated and would want to add the existing work to HUMANS, then finish HUMANS and export. Maybe too much complicated?
-
Good work, hope the Binary Translator comes up soon.
