Hey friends! Thank you so much for the new updates in the tools, great work again. As you maybe know I have the help of Ilducci in my spanish translation, good thing I want to tell us a little thing. I have noticed the last IDX generator seems to have a little bug building the idx for Shenmue I. I mean, all seems works good. But I noticed the AFS with multiples SRF files don't works with the idx generator. The subtitles ingame ends out of sync.. I think this bug is present when you try to make the idx of this files: E1003.AFS E1018.AFS E1024.AFS SA1076.AFS But I can fix this little problem if I use your old version of the idx creator. IDX Creator v1 alpha works fine with this AFS with multiple SRF files. Please, try to test it and if I was right try to fix it in the next version. - And another thing, my friend Ilducci tell us the new graphics with spanish characters in the preview screen of the Cinematics editor, still the codes is missing. I attach it here: chars_list_one.rar And if you can try to add in the next version of the editor. That's all. Ah! and thanks for the credits in the apps to us -

Thanks again. I don't know the existence of 2 models of important characters. When I see Ine san in the intro scene I think the texture swap don't work. I test it again and... the fact is don't work look at this, the old woman as become the INVISIBLE GIRL http://www.segasaturno.com/portal/files/posted_images/user_2_shenmue_invisible.jpg I check it and the original PVR don't have alpha channel, and the edited one is the same atributes... I don't understand.... Maybe is the PVRExt tool, when patches the original file corrupt the textures images... Anybody has edit any in-game texture? from the characters, or scenario? -- I'll test the character exchange tomorrow, thanks for the tutorial. Sure, dude I trust in your work Oh! is true!! Thanks!!! Now I can view the textures of the characters. But... is possible to edit? I make a test with INESAN, aparently is the file INE_.PKF I edit his face for testing purpouses and change it for the Yu Suzuki face, like this: http://www.segasaturno.com/portal/files/posted_images/user_2_yusuzuki_shenmue.jpg I patch teh PKF file again, and i check that the new file have the texture change extracting it again. Seems ok, but I test in the game and Ine San have the same face how can this be possible? Anybody has try to change textures of faces, hands, clothes, etc?? Could be interesting... - And by the way, how can I change characters? I mean change characters ID in a scene, I see some Shenmue Mods in youtube and exchange a character by another. I will like change the normal 3d model of Ryo by the beta model of Ryo. Is a Ryo very old, almost a Sega Saturn Ryo. I will like offer the patch in 2 options, normal and Ryo-Saturn model. I wonder if is this possible, I see this video: could be possible change this Ryo model and play with it all the game?? I supose only change a model by another... but where are the in-game 3d models? Ok SiZiOUS, thanks is clear for me now (I don't read well you explanation sorry) I wonder what can happen if I rip the file HUMANS.AFS to gain more space for my own rip (and by example have a larger dummy file for better read), I have to test it.... Another thing I will like to do in my translation is modify some in game textures. I don't know if this is possible... Like this: http://www.segasaturno.com/portal/files/posted_images/user_2_22.jpg or for example this model in the hair salon: http://www.segasaturno.com/portal/files/posted_images/user_2_23.jpg where are this graphics in the game? Can be edited? I know that you have change the texture of cocacola cans in the game: http://www.segasaturno.com/portal/files/posted_images/user_2_25.jpg how can I do this? If we can see and edit the game textures maybe can translate some sign in the game like this: http://www.segasaturno.com/portal/files/posted_images/user_2_24.jpg and the characters faces, I see you suceeed riping the faces of NPC in Shenmue 2. Where are the faces of the characters in Shenmue 1? Too many answers.... THANKS! -

Thanks for the explanation my friend. I don't have really sure what is inside HUMANS.AFS I been working in all the AFS except the 2 monsters HUMANS.AFS & FREE01.AFS. When I finish it I started with FREE01.AFS, and I test with several characters in order to check if are working and show the translated subtitles in the game. I finish translated several files inside FREE01.AFS, like F1004.SRF for all the Fuku-san speech in FREE Quest in all the first disc, F1005.SRF in this case all of the dialogues with Ine-san, etc. I look a HUMANS.AFS and I see the same dialogues for characters that I already translated usind de SRF inside FREE01.AFS. Then I conclude that this files is repeat in this 2 archives, but I'm sure wich is using in the game: FREE01.AFS. Anyway, I'm wondering, I suspect that I will have work around HUMANS.AFS. Thinking in the fact of possible characters in the game of minior importance (like the gilrs saying: I don't talk with strangers ) are in this file... but I don't really sure. Why? Because I don't finish yet FREE01.AFS, is a lot or work, and I have been thinking when i finish this file I have much hard work with HUMANS.AFS , but if you say the truth, then when I finish FREE01.AFS... I finish all the FREE QUEST I am a little confuse, maybe the two files are in some way linking information:heu: And other thing I don't understand is... why you say that the files on FREE01.AFS translated whit the old AIO Editor is bad hacked and can don't work well in real Dreamcast? I have all working 100%, I think all the Shenmue 1 can be translated with Shenmue AiO Cinematics Subtitles Editor and the files working without problem. Is that true? -

Ok, thanks. But in Free Quest Subtitles Editor 2.0 seems make reference to HUMANS.AFS: "4. You should have now a lot of ".xml" files in the "BAD_PKS" folder that contain subtitles extracted from *BAD HACKED* files. These ".xml" files must be imported into *CLEAN* NPC files. To get *CLEAN* NPC files, simply get them from a clean HUMANS.AFS extraction. Extract these new files in a directory of your choice (I call it "CLEAN_PKS")." Is AIO Freequest Editor should be used only with Free01.afs and HUMANS.AFS? Cinematics Editor should be used only with all others afs? Hi again, friends. I'm happy because the release of new version of your tools, thanks But I have a doubt, as you know I'm actually translating disc 1 of Shenmue to the spanish and until now I don't have any problem. I mean, I have all the cinematic scenes of the first disc already translated this is all the AFS in \SCENE\01\STREAM except HUMANS.AFS and FREE01.AFS. Then I can see you in the freequest subtitles editor make the advise that the files translated with the old shen_aio_subseditor are bad hacked and can work randomly in the real console... what this mean? I don't understand. I have translated several NPC in Freequest mode of the file FREE01.AFS and work well in the console. What kind of problem can be make? I test it with differents characters and seems work 100%. What should I do to continue? Finish the FREE01.AFS with the Shen_aio_subseditor and then starting open HUMAN.AFS and translating the files with the new freequest subtitles editor? I am confused, don't understand well. Cinematics Subtitles Editor is for all the AFS except FREE01.AFS & HUMANS.AFS? Or FREE01.AFS can be translated with Shenmue AiO subtitles Editor. Thanks for your help!!!! -

DONE!!! Works!!! Is stupid thing but... was the version of alcohol 120 guilty of my problems I'm start to to suspect when the Perfect Series of darkfalz make to my GD reader the same fucking thing , and when you have tested and confirm working MDS with the LBA calculator method :reflexiomo6: Then I write the Perfect Series disc 1 with Discjuggler instead of Alcohol and works with audio tracks!! Immediately change my version of Alcohol to the lasts versions, and the MDS works without problems (I have done time before, but I don't know cause the fucked old version of alcohol ) I'm very grateful with the support of this forum as always (specially Shendream for send me BATCH SHENMUE 1 AUDIO CDDA.rar ) I post soon a new screenshots of my spanish translation version ¡THANKS GUYS! -

Thanks a lot by the help friends, you're great!!! But don't works for me I follow all your instructions and the results is the same, the game works, boot and when arrives to the moment to play an audio track, the laser search for it and no sound, retry and then the game continues. Later the Shen Hua demo scene, then the second audio track or YS logo and the same thing, laser searching for the track, don't find it, then the game continues. I'm start to thinking is a problem with my actual recorder (modern one, no compatible with CDRECORD) or my version of alcohol 120% that I'm using. Is possible because how can be if not the fact of the release of perfect series make the same thing?? (search audio track and don't play it) I tested in 3 diferents Dreamcast... And when I try to play the audio tracks in the Dreamcast menu system, is play fine. 3 tracks, the 2 first of audio and works well, only in the game don't works (weird fucked thing!!!) I'm continues trying, many thanks for your help -

I try with 3 differents versions. One rip made myself with my BBA, another that give you to me time ago and another one of snesorama GDI version exact rip. And, by the way in order of the suggestion of -=FamilyGuy=-, I search for the perfect series of Shenmue 1 made by Darkfalz, download the 1st CD. I test in emulator and seems to be right, the audio tracks sounds good (the size of one audio track is different to mine, the originals ). I'm happy, I burn it in a CDRom (needs a little overburn) an prepare for test in a real dreamcast (An find it out what hacks done to this release ) and... DONT WORKS too:cry: The release of Darkfalz in real hardware is the same problem that I have, the laser search the audio tracks, retry several times and don't play it I test it in 2 diferents consoles (thinking if is a problem of this system ) and don't works in both machines. Then I think is clear, a release of Shenmue 1 with the 2 audio tracks is impossible due a special hack or problem that we don't know We find it and fix!!! p.d: Shendream, have you try make 3 dummy audio tracks and hack cdda like the old way and may be work? -

Is 12845 OK! You mean patch with CDDAFixer with the LBA of the LBACalc, right? I do it. But when binhack 1streda.bin on LBA 11702, then the game don't boot I suppose if I burn the two audio tracks, then binhack on 1st_read.bin must be de msinfo value, in this case 12842, not 11702 (with this value I think that only works without audio tracks) This thing make me crazy!!! I can'tttttt -=FamilyGuy=- I hope you can help me when you done with Shenmue 2 (I know that you have help us in dreamcast.es for shemue 2 translation too) Thanks to all of you, you're great!! Any ideas?? -

Thanks MagicSeb for this utils!! I don't have this I try now with CDDAPatcher.exe and the LBA fix in 12845 position. The game works fine in emulator and the audio tracks playing almost fine, the first one have a weird sound when the track is played... But in real hardware don't works. The same thing, the game boots, but when it go to the audio tracks, the laser is searching for it and don't play it. When the laser try to read several times without success then the game continues, but without audio tracks :reflexiomo6: ¿Anybody make an iso autoboot of Shenmue 1 CD1 with CDDA tracks? I think that any PAL release -or NTSC too- have audio tracks, all remove it. I don't know if maybe the lba of this tracks is in another file and don't in 1st_read.bin.. if this is possible :triste: I suppose that this problem is interesting for your release if you want make a backup autoboot in french with audio tracks for your translation... I spend many hours, and I don't know what can I do now Many thanks!! P.D: And sorry for my bad english (my french is worst ) -

Thanks for the help friend But i can't get success whith this. cdrecord is not compatible with my recorder and I try other methods with your advise. I try a lot of things, but is impossible. I have finally a CDROM with the 2 tracks and autoboot working, but the audio tracks don't play in real dreamcast. Is like if the laser is searching for the audio tracks, and can't read it and then continue reading the game :triste: I get the MSinfo number is 12845. Hack my ip.bin and my 1s_read.bin with this, the cdda.exe and make the iso. Insert the IP.BIN via Ipins and can make the autoboot Alcohol MDS with the 2 tracks and -c option (calculated MSinfo) The game works but don't play fine the audio tracks. In NullDC 1.0.3 a weird sound when the audio track is playing and then play it. Both of the tracks, but when I record to a CDROM and test in real hardware the dreamcat can't find the audio tracks (the laser hurts to find it ) I try other options, like dahack, or make a non boot bin+cue and the make it autoboot, and don't works :reflexiomo6: The situation is very ironic because my CD is 700mb with the 2 audio tracks, is just like I want, spanish and none of the files of my lenguaje remove or downsampled and the 2 originals CDDA tracks in But the audio tracks can't play. I suppose is the lba fix of the 1st_read.bin don't works with cdda, dahack and I try too with a Yursof's util GDFixer 1.0 withour success.... I'm wondering what can be the mistake that I made and if is possible that this game need 3 dummy audio tracks to work perfect with CDDA... Please help me, I know I'm closing to get it And of course, THANKS
